Background to the Company
Vetspeed Ltd was formed in May 1979 with five employees. Under the brand of the Cambridge Pet Crematorium (CPC) it offered a new disposal service for the veterinary profession.
In 1981 the Thriplow Heath site was leased and with the installation of the first incineration plant began the task of changing the long established method of veterinary disposal via rendering and landfill to one of ethical incineration and cremation. Since that time Vetspeed Ltd has introduced new plants and technologies to safely and securely dispose of a range of waste types.
In 2001, Vetspeed established a commercial waste division. This division was rebranded in 2008 to Novus Environmental. The Novus Environmental name was chosen due to its Latin definition meaning new and refreshed.
In 2003 Vetspeed Ltd opened a new facility in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. Continuing with expansion plans the company invested £2.5 million into two new buildings. One to house two state of the art Autoclaves. The other, Thiplow House, was built to house a farewell suite for bereaved pet owners and new offices for its ever expanding workforce that now reaches nearly 100 employees.
The Board of Directors (Ray Hale, John White and Duncan Francis) of Vetspeed Ltd believe that a professional approach and high standards of care and customer service, as demonstrated from 1979 to present day, will ensure continuity in the future for its business and its staff.
