Site Manager

Vetspeed Ltd are looking at appoint an experienced, skilled and motivated individual to manage our site in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. This site is unique in the fact that it operates predominantly as a pet crematorium, but is also registered specialist waste management facility.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day management of the site. The role will include the control of the operations of the site within all legal, technical, environmental and Company requirements to ensure that the business operates smoothly & efficiently.

Duties to include:  

  • Plan, direct and assist in all site activities
  • Full P&L responsibility
  • Manage a team of drivers, operatives and customer service staff
  • Deal effectively and efficiently with clients and ensure that any actions required are completed to the customers’ satisfaction
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team to ensure they achieve the required service standards
  • Maintain computer and paper based record systems, ensuring all Company documentation and records are completed accurately and according to Company procedures
  • Oversee the planning of our transportation services based from the site, ensuring that customer requirements are met in a timely manner and service levels remain high
  • Oversee activity inside the warehouse
  • Plan staffing levels for the site to ensure service provision is offered without interruption
  • Responsibility for the site infrastructure and arrange maintenance as required
  • Prepare KPI’s on a weekly basis
  • Submit a monthly report to The Board to highlight the activities and issues of the month
  • Identify and implement opportunities to maintain business growth
  • All other duties within capabilities as the workload so requires

  • Good commercial acumen
  • Experience of managing a P&L and setting budgets
  • Experience of managing investigation and disciplinary procedures
  • Good knowledge of H&S legislation
  • Ability to deliver training and H&S processes and procedures
  • A caring and compassionate nature with good customer facing skills
  • A Managers CPC in road haulage essential
  • COTC preferred
  • IOSH Managing safely essential
  • The ability to ensure that a close liaison and working relationship is maintained with internal and external stakeholders
  • A proactive, “can do” attitude, flexibility and be self-motivated
  • Good working knowledge of both transport compliance and waste legislation
  • The ability to work to deadlines whilst keeping a good eye for detail
  • The ability to work in a high pressure environment while keeping a positive attitude and sense of humour to maintain morale
  • Good understanding of English language
  • Good computer skills
  • Experience within an operational management role is required

Salary – £40,000 – £45,000 Depending on qualifications and experience
